Can anyone give me tips on how to remove my oil injection from my 90hp mercury outboard? I have had to many problems with it and would rather premix. Is there any special tips I need to know or can I just disconnect, or remove the whole thing? Thanks for the responses.

Re: Removing oil pump from 90hp merc

hey i hear ya on the oil injection removed it myself on my 200hp merc, what you have to do is remove your pump make a plate and gasket to cover the hole where the pump was, remove the T fitting from the hose where your pump is piped into,i beleive you will have to buy a longer gas hose from the pump to the carbs,as this is what i did, plug the pulse hose from the crankcase or remove the pulse fitting and install a pipe thread plug and bingo no more headaches.I had to rebuid my motor a nice cost i might add because the pump failed.I have talked to some guys that build motors and they recommend anyone running oil injection to still premix 100-1 just in case, so i opted to just remove and premix 50-1 and no more problems so long as the mix is right...hope this helps!!
