can't help with that other than telling you to get a box of sandwich bage and a black marker, and label all your bolts like exhaust manifold bolts go in one bag and write what they are etc this will save you a LOT of trouble when it comes time to reassemble the engine.

Taking pictures will help also. That way you can see where everything goes and how its supposed to look.

Easy as pie.
Disconnect the fuel lines and pull the tank. you need to lift on the bottom of the tank so its sort of coming out cocked. basically tilt the bottom up towards the motor then start turning it in the hull. the front will pivot down then you can pull the tank out. I KNOW it says to remove the motor first but you dont need to.

Disconnect the exhaust pipe at the rubber connector at the end of the exhaust pipe/stinger.

Disconnect the wiring harness ubder the hood its all quick connects.

Disconnect the fuel and battery cables.
the pipe/head has a lift eye. Undo the motor mounts Be careful you leave the shims ( if any ) mine didnt have any) with the right motor mount. I just taped them to the hull on each corner so I knew.

Lift out complete motor. youll need to push the motor forward to the area where the hull widens out toward the front.

Thats the easiest way to pull it

Re: Removing Engine on Yamaha Waveraider 1100

Thanks for all the info. I am a mercruiser mech but these are my Yamaha machines. I removed the engine yesterday. I thought I was doing myself a favor by removing as much as I could before lifting the engine out. I removed the exhaust and carbs first. So on reinstallation, the engine will go back in with everything on it? By the way, 2 broken rings on 1 piston. Pistons are .50 over already and haven't seen any pistons over that. Any suggestions?
