I did a search here but couldn't find anything on pulling a stuck/rusted gimbal bearing. Tried a bearing puller attached to a slide hammer (couldn't find a 3 jaw puller that would fit). I'm soaking it in PB Blaster and will try the hammer again.

Any other advice?

Keep soaking it and you will need a bigger puller.Charlie

Is a puller better than a slide hammer? Looks like I have to fabricate a puller setup since the hub is round and no place to screw the bolt into to pull the bearing.

It's a OMC Cobra. It's just stuck on from water rust from a leaking bellows. I'm drilling holes in the gimbal bearing and soaking it in PB Blaster. Tomorrow's the day I give it the all out effort with a slide hammer again.

I used a 3 jaw puller built into a (big) slide hammer (borrowed from an auto repair shop).
