Re: Remove oil injection

this is not a specific answer, but since no mechs have replied yet, i thought i should mention that according to older posts, the yamaha had OI behind the carbs, so it might require different jetting for you to do this.

in other words, the orig system didn't have the mix done prior to getting into carb like many others, and going to a 'richer' mix than is orig through the jets will affect performance.

and its been posted that the yammie had a great OI system.

now, whether this applied to yours or all yammies i don't know. you might even use the "search" feature at top of window to look for old posts on "yamaha oil injection", or just wait for more replies.

ps: my pop is still running the 85 115 yammie just as he bought it new, and has never had the first problem with his motor.

But I was told the oil works just fine. and your rt it does not mix with the fuel so this may cause a problem?? I have doen some searching but no specific answers yet.
Maybe I will leave it alone but I will see if anyone else can inlighten me some more.
Thanks again

Re: Remove oil injection

if i could remember the specific topic name, i'd sure tell you. i remember a user with "capt" or "captain" in their name wrote it, and they were actively working a marine shop... if i get a chance i'll run a search. i bet they're still here though. you will need to study up on the couple of sensors related to the tank & buzzer, and clean the screen sometimes. :)
