Removal of Top Mount Throttle Control

Just bought a new 1981 Starcraft CC. Unfortunately 80 HP Merc motor with boat is bad. I am putting my 115 Evenrude on boat. I am trying to remove the top mounted throttle control. Problem is the bolts will just spin from the bottom. There is a crome cover to the unit and it looks like the handle has to come off to get the chrome top off. There is a small hole at bottom of handle. It is not a hex bolt. Looks like Merc is imprinted on handle. You have to press the black button in handle to start and run motor to warm up. Does anyone know how to remove this handle? I have to shrink my pictures

if your switching out with diff controls suitable for the evinrude, why sweat it...

just trying to take non used controls off console. I have to figure out how to resize pictures

it was an allen screw in bottom of shift arm but completely siezed and I ended up breaking the chrome cover off to remove it. Oh well.
