Remote tilt switch

So I added the mercruiser remote tilt switch to my boat and i have the volvo penta 8.1 and now the remote tilt switch works great but now the tilt/trim switch on the throttle does'nt work. I matched wire coloring to both connectors, any idea why throttle trim/tilt not working?

I don't have a VP 8.1 wiring diagram, but the others show it should be plug and play. This is assuming the wiring is just a parallel connection with the original switch.

Is that a Red/Purple wire on the motor side?

Ok found the problem one of the connectors was bad inside, replace connector and everything works as it should, thank you
