1984 Mercruiser 140, alpha one gen1. Shift cable has been replaced and used Permatex Thread sealer.
Only when in water, I have to shove the remote into reverse. Works flawlessly on muffs.
Shift cable has been replaced and when in water, I’ve removed the shift cable from the bracket and can move the cable to get in and out of gear without problem.
I’ve also lubed the cables coming from the remote on both ends which made a bit of a difference I could tell when on muffs.
USPS just dropped off my new remote cables, so I’ll be replacing those today. Any other thoughts as to what could be causing this jam?
