Sometimes being a military family really stinks. About the time we get used to a place, it's time to move. There are some advantages like being able to live in many different areas and experience the cultures. It is hard on the kids though :blue:

We don't have the orders yet, but it looks like we'll be going up to Maryland next to the Chesapeake Bay. I could think of a few worst places :faint2: lol.

Do you guys think this little 18' SS will do alright there? I know it's a little small for the Atlantic, but will it be OK for the tidal areas? If it's to small, I should probably sell them both in here in TX .... and maybe pick up that 22' Holiday I've been eyeing for the last 4 months :)

Sell the 16', keep the 18' and buy the 22' Holiday. You'll be able to go anywhere.

Any excuse to get a new boat will work.

Thanks for your service. My Dad told me when I went in the Air Force, "don't get married while in the service, it's too hard". I did one term and then started college, marriage etc. It's can be a tough life and I thank you for doing it.

64 makes a good point. Any excuse.....I vote 22' Holiday.:D

Hey cj, I think you would need the 22, cus the 16 is just too small:facepalm: that's what I would go with to sell the Admiral on the Holiday.;)

All good suggestions,,, thanks fellows.

The 16 SS has to get a few more things done to it and then it'll find a new home. I already made that deal with the Admiral when I purchased the 18 SS.

The 18 SS seems to handle 1-2 foot chop pretty well. (Or, at least as well as I would expect a little boat to.) It can be a wet ride depending on which way you need to go. I wonder how the 22' Holiday rides. Is it like going from the 16 SS to 18 SS? I know that is a huge difference.

I can't say 16 to 18, I went from a 16' FG to a 21' Mariner. There was / is no comparison. I would think your ride in the 22' would be even more of a "huge difference" than you noticed from the 16 to 18 switch.

The only other comment is the Holiday being a closed bow will be a very different change also. I love open bow boating for family and friends. Kids up front works for me.

Mr Mule lol . I had a 22 holiday here in the northwest, 2 miles from Puget Sound. Powered by a 200 Johnson and a 9.9 Merc 4 stroke kicker I found it a near perfect Ocean boat but with some limited considerations . No 10 mile trips off dshore or marginal weather altho some of those come up.? The Holiday you have is a great boat. I traveled the San-Juan Islands and many miles in the passages. I leave the big water, like for Tuma, and off shore to the commercial offerings as I can not maintain a boat to handle that, and also fish at the same time, Costs a fraction to charter out for the Big ones . Thank you for your service and from a family of 5 military retiries ,You look forward to some free time it will come some day. Pugetsound
