I read there are problems with the exhaust getting sucked up into the cockpit area,on these express model boats, is this true? Does having a camper top make it any better or worse?

Ian,<br />I saw that post and started to reply to it. I think that comes under the heading of " a friends sister heard that another friend thinks he smelled exhaust"...I don't remember ever having anyone comment to that effect, nor have I noticed it myself. I don't think the design of the boat is any more conducive to the "station-wagon" effect than any other. The exhaust does exit the boat above the waterline...but so do many others. I am sure if the speed and wind are right you might be able to smell the exhaust...however you ARE in the open air, you just have a hardtop over your head. IMO the canvas being up would tend to prevent this from happening if anything. In short, I don't think it is an issue. Haven't had time to look for the pics yet...but have some other stuff that I've scanned...from the maritime musuem that I will send along if I can find your e-mail address.
