I have a 77 evinrude 100hp. My power tilt/trim worked fine for 3 days in a row. Then upon preparing for trailoring home it quit in the down position. I can't find/figure out how to release power tilt/trim so I can check hydraulics and fluids. You can hear the motor when depressing the down button on throttle but nothing for up. Any ideas, please help and thank you in advance.

Re: release power tilt/trim

Howdy, Darkstar. There is a screw operated release valve on the starboard side of the engine mount, down near the bottom.

If the pump motor doesn't run when you operate the UP switch, your problem is probably electrical. Both switches operate the motor plus a solenoid operated valve to direct the pressure where you want it. Because DOWN works you may be lucky enough to have a switch or wiring problem.

Good luck.
JB
