Does anyone know where I might be able to order some new main jets for my "wme" style carbs on a 1988 merc 100hp 2+2 motor, would really like to re-jet for the altitude I live at.
thanks in advance, wally.

If that's EagleLakeWally meaning Eagle Lake CA then go over to Spalding and see James at his shop, he can order them for you. You really don't need to re-jet just run Georgie's premium gas.

Spalding General Store gas pumps. She has Premium fuel, the trailer park has regular only and I'm not sure what the Marina has. I don't think theres any fuel on the water. Stones has premium up at the store/resturant I think. You probably just get gas in Susanville.

I think James has to get most of his parts out of Reno or Redding. I can't think of anything in Susanville.

Sschefer,
yea I usually get gas in susanville, although the marina at south shore still has a pump on the water, but it"s so low you have to paddle in from the rock wall !!
Stacy moved tri-county marine into susanville, but his inventory is verrrrry limited these days. I always try to buy local first but I will order parts myself if the local shops don't have what I need.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if you could get to the pump at the El Marina. I've come up three times every year for the past 35 years but this year I went early in June and feel lucky I did.

Dave Leroy (Heritage Land) said they've tried to shore up the end of the ramp at Spalding but they still haven't dredged yet and only have 1.4 feet going out. I draw nearly that and could paddle out I guess but by October when the fishing gets really good I'd probably get stuck and have to jump in and push. Not a good thing at O dark thirty in the morning when that lake turns and the water gets cold(er).

I can only imagine what the line would be like at the ramp if we all have to go out single file and somebody gets hung up. It wouldn't be a friendly place. El Nino is on it's way so next year things should be better. I still have 4 fish from my June trip. I'm rationing them.:)

The lake has been a nightmare this season and the level is dropping noticably weekly, evaporation, bly tunnel, ? who knows. Unless the springs start pushing water into the lake it may be next to impossible to get anything other than aluminum boats into the lake when the fishing gets good !

I know, it was rough in June but we finally got our 3-4 lb limits. I choose not to fish for planters. I'd rather go home skunked knowing I was fishing and not just scooping fish out like the pelicans.

The year before last was fantastic. It was my Dad's last fishing trip he's there year round now. He'd been going there for over 60 years. We did really well last year in August Sept and Oct. I made the mistake of going up on Labor day but I survived it. I thought I was going up against the Spanish Armada when I came through Pelican and looked down the bay. Sheeze...

It was kind of funny, we slid in amongst the rookies down around Wildcat, slammed 4 nice fish in about 15 minutes and were back at the cabin before the coffee pot shut off. We packed up and headed home the same day. 600 miles for four fish and worth every last bite.

Did they get the pipe shut off over at Bly? I thought I heard they did, there were doing an environmental impact study on it in June. If so your right, that will really help.

Don't the springs get fed from Lassen and the ice caves. I heard they were pretty well depleted. I was thinking that would be why the fish are running deeper than normal.

Sschefer, The courts determined that there are no water rights and blm has jurisdiction over the valve, I do not know if it has actually been shut though, typical govt red tape b.s. AS for the springs I'll ask my neighbor he knows all when it comes to that lake, but I recall him telling me that it has been known to rise very quickly even in dry years ! so my fingers are crossed..
Sorry to hear about your father, I am shure he is fishing in a better place!

Thanks, if you hear anything you think I might want to know, PM me. I sometimes email Val Aubry to get news and Dave Leroy is my other go to source. To have another reliable source is like finding gold!
