Re: Reinell sailboat

Any information...sounds kind of vague to me.<br /><br />I think it's been awhile since Reinell made sailboats...wish I had some years but I don't.<br /><br />If they are new to sailing I'd recommend some sailing courses. Local yacht clubs, Power Squadrons, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary would be good places to get lessons.<br /><br />havingfun

Re: Reinell sailboat

The Reinell / Rendova company is in Washington so this is probably the same company who made the boat back in the 70's. Even knowing the exact manufacturer who made the boat is not a big help a lot of the time. Like most boat companies, it may have changed hands a few times and companies don't tend to keep detailed records on old boats nor do they seem to have the time to help you find out more...not to be negative.<br /><br />After looking around I only saw Reinell sailboats for sale in the years of 1973 to 1976. I then found this quote by someone named JP:<br />"The Reinell sailboat was built in response to the 1973 energy crisis when power boats were just not sailing. Reinell has had a mixed reputation for build quality over the years (better in the early years than later on. However, I believe that the Sailboat was well built and a good sailing comfortable cruising sailboat. I have never had the opportunity to sail on one myself."<br /><br />Makes sense...recalling the 70's.<br /><br />havingfun

Re: Reinell sailboat

I own a 26 foot Reinell sailboat. This model, the rsc2600 is a pleasure to sail. I will be sailing her from Whittier, Alaska to the Carib in 2005. I have been getting as much lterature as I can together concerning the Reinell sailboat line. If I can't answer a question I'll try to get the answer.

Re: Reinell sailboat

The boat is a 1975 (only year Reinell built sailboats) 2200. I was the San Francisco Bay Reinell dealer at the time. Specs are 21'11" x 8' x 1'7" with centerboard up. It was a nice little boat when the manufacturer's inexperience caused problems were solved, as I would assume they are 33 years later. Any more questions, contact me at surveyjack@aol.com.

Re: Reinell sailboat

I've owned my 1977 Reinell '22 for about 4 years now and have had excellent luck with the boat. Although it isn't much of a racer since it isn't a particularly fast boat, it does make a great overnight cruiser. Very stable boat with it weighty shoal draft keel and extra thick 5/8" hull. Very easy to maintain and easy to single hand for a beginner or a seasoned pro.

I've got the same boat and love her. Only problem is trying to find parts. You know a site?
