Re: Regulating Small Boats

I wonder if that has anything to do with the changes KS is making with boat registrations. They are now issuing hull id numbers for boats missing the HIN or older boats that don't have the modern HIN format. I was told by the local wildlife and parks officer that KS was going to start titleing boat in the near future. I'm one of the lucky people with an older boat that they has issued a new HIN for, so I have to affix the new numbers to my boat, and have it inspected.

Just another example of the sad fact, that these day's, you really can't have enough big government. ;(

There will surely be larger additional fees involved.

Bye bye freedom.

Florida was instrumental in the requirement to register boats. and for the HINs to be put on boats, we still have one of the highest rating on boat theft. by having the hins, is a way to identify a stolen boat.

I imagine they're going to exempt boats under a certain size...they usually do.

However, should they require such on all recreational boats, I will drag the NOTLUND GARCKYIII down and let them have a look at my pig-ugly 12' aluminum boat. They can check its safety equipment, too. Heck I have all the stuff required for a much, much larger boat on the NOTLUND GARCKYIII.

Then, when they get done laughing, I'll take their sticker and put it on my boat, to go with the other fun stickers I have there.

Further, if I ever see a terrorist's boat on the 500 acre lake my boat is usually on, I'll promptly dial 911 and report it. :D

North Carolina began a year or two ago. ALL boats will the titled. It use to be an option to get a title, but now they are forcing you to get the title and to pay their FEE to obtain it. (BIG government) Not only the title issue but you can not register your boat at a service agent for 1 year anymore. Now its 3 years only unless you mail it in, then they will give you a 1 year sticker. Urghhhhh..... more government=less freedom for you and me.
