Ok, here is the situation. I am not a mechanic, have never tried to be. I just bought this boat, and the second time out it died in the middle of the lake. First boat I have ever owned. So, I took it in to the shop and they tell me that the stator is bad. They are wanting $500 to fix it (including part). Is this a pretty standard price? Is there anything I can learn to do on my own?
I really don't have an extra $500 laying around right now. So I need to find an economical way to fix it.
Thanks...
