New to you boat, or did you have it for a while?

Where is your trim set?

Are you adjusting trim?

Explain exactly how you take off and what you do

I have the boat for 5 years , the trim all way down . Rpm sometimes stay on 3100 even when wide open throttle , and sometimes rpm normal hit 5000 , so when the boat doesn’t run more than 10 mile per hour even when WOT I run the engine on Wide open throttle without the drive and the rpm showing 3100, I have same issue last year I replaced the fuel pump and plugs and plug’s wire and cleaned out the fuel injectors and since that time the boat was running normal but last week it’s back again same issue so I think the fuel injectors I already ordered 8 injectors. Hopefully that’s the issue . Because the wires and plugs And fuel pump just replaced last year. Please let me know if I am on the right path .

Hi. I think you’re going too deep into this perhaps. That looks like a 5.0 gxi. Hate to rattle on again about this..but have you replaced the diz cap yet ? 100% the most common cause of issue on these engines.

The distributor cap and rotor. They are by far the most common cause of issues like this. Notoriously famous for failing. It’s the flat cap spider looking thing on your engine. Terrible thing for failing and gathering moisture at least. Also often cross fire amongst the electrodes too.

go to www.volvopentastore.com (the North American Volvo Penta parts distribution run by iboats)

dont just throw parts at your motor like you are doing.

reving in neutral means nothing

so you have owned the boat for 5 years. how long have you been having the problem?
what is the compression numbers for all 8 cylinders?
What is your fuel pressure?
Have you done a cap/rotor/wires/plugs tune up? (and yes, the "crab cap" is usually needing to be changed every 2 years regardless of engine usage)
have you changed your fuel filter and checked the contents of your fuel filter for pure fuel and no signs of water?

unless you have a test bench, neither you nor I can believe its the injectors. and most of the time they may just need cleaning

you MUST do your diagnostic due dilligence prior to throwing parts at it.

I changed the filter and the fuel pump and the plugs and the wires last year. Compression test have bin done it’s all between 140 to 150 .
The only thing I didn’t do it cap/rotor .

Yes, the distributor cap looks like a blue crab with the posts going out the sides. Simply Google distributor crab cap and you will see.

The are notorious for failing internally (within the plastic)
