Mercury 175hp XR2 jet drive, Regal boat. It's leaking through the engine hull grommet seal - where jet pump connects to hull/powerhead. I don't think I can afford proper repairs (replace grommet seal), so was thinking of (temporarily) stopping the leak with 3M 5200 on the grommet seal? Would that be a really bad idea?
