I had asked this before in another post, but it was buried in a bunch of other questions/problem I was having at the time.<br /><br />Basically, I have read here and in my manual that the gray reg/rect wire is supposed to supply the tach readings, but on my engine the gray wire from the reg/rect is on the a terminal all by itself. The gray wire that goes to the instument panel is on the same terminal as one of the orange wires (I think the orange/black).<br /><br />When I replaced the reg/rect I tried to wire it back per the manual, but then the tach didn't work. So I put it back the way it was and it worked again.<br /><br />Does anyone know why my engine is set up this way? Do I have a special tach?<br /><br />The only reason I ask is because I am having other problems and I suspect the reg/rect may be bad.
