I have a 1994 Reflexx with SJ 90. Great little boat! Needs trim adjustment to stop porposing. Has anyone made mods that might help me out too?

Looked at trim nozzles but they cost what the boat's worth. Probably better to fab the existing nozzel angle or ride plate with small tabs.

Welcome to Iboats !! If you are sure that your ride plate and intake grate are not bent or clogged and the gaskets are sealing as this will really slow the boat down. Also if you can get under the boat , look from the front of the rideplate into the intake grate and take a look at the impeller . it should almost touch the drive housing and have no nicks or cracks. If all that looks good , get a set of trim tabs from nauticus . They are a Godsend to these boats . You need model number ST 980-40 and will have to call nauticus and speak to Greg , I just got off the phone with him and he is expecting your call . You have to call him because you will need a set of short pistons, and need to move the tab mounting brackets to get the proper angle for the tabs to fit and work . I am also sending him pictures of my tabs mounted but please note that I have moved my tab brackets all the way back on the tabs by drilling new holes to get the proper angle and adjustments you will want . If you do this post up and I will PM you my cell number so you will install them correctly.

The number for Nauticus is 1-800-233-0194

I called Greg and placed the order. He will email me the pix and set up the blocks. I forgot to ask if these are fixed or adjustable when under way?

The boat is located in Michigan and I will get there in three weeks to install and do the visual checks. Any other performance mods you would suggest?

not adjustable when under way, but they are automatic... basically a trim tab with a gas charged cylinder.

I had mine on a similar 14 ft sj90 powered jet boat, a sugar sand heat. COMPLETELY changed the boat, much faster plane, better handling, no wandering at low speed. It did make the boat more stable though, it would no longer spin. I rigged up a wire with an S-hook at the end that I could use to hook them in the full retracted position for when I wanted to go out and play alone. The rest of the time they were in the 'normal' position.

Thanks for the info. I asked if they would become damaged or cause unsafe condition when subjected to excessive spinning:D. He said they would not but, didn't realize they might not allow for it. I will rig for both modes of boating pleasure.

I intentionally picked the stainless steel ones, the plastic ones have tracking fins also. But yeah, it would just kind of mush around, no clean spin like previously no matter how hard or fast you tried.

He is gonna have to get the stainless ones due to the transom design of the boat , the mounting plates must be moved to the end of the tab to fit the boat and they are getting him custom shorter pistons . That is how mine is set up.
