I'm new here as a poster and need help. I have a 97 suzuki dt40c with a dead lower cylinder, both plugs wet, lower is alot worse, carb is recently cleaned, compression is 110lb on both cylinders, new plugs, great spark, inspected clyinders with bore scope, exh. ports were pretty carboned, clean them out with a carbon cleaner, have run seaform for a few trips while chasing a misfire that turned in to a dead cyl. I have read lots of post here and never heard anyone talk about a broken reed, is this a possible cause, would appreciate any input.

Re: Reeds

Never seen one myself, but think you would have a lot of blow-back from carb.
Have you checked the fuel pump to see if it is dumping fuel through the vacuum port from a leaking diaphragm?

Re: Reeds

it is a 97 suzuki 40 and has only one carb or three.and does the primer bulb stays hard when you pump it if not pull off fuel pump and prime bulb look for gas coming out the hole in back of pump if there is gas you have busted daighram.if not pull off carb and you should see the reeds clear as day.if diaphram is busted could be flooding cyclinder out.
