I case you have not heard last night at the Detroit Redwings game defenceman Jiri Fischer collapsed on the bench during the game he had no pulse the trainer used a auto defib and cpr to save his live. What upset me was not the fact they cancelled the game but the fans booed loudly. I sure that after witnessing what the players saw they really must have wanted to play hockey. What is there problem? Some one all most lost there life on the bench and the reaction is booing. With the NHL already suffering a identaty problems from the strike this will help alot. Go ahead put a bag over your Redwings fans,the fans who booed are truly bottom of the barrel scum.....

goes to show the average mindset anymore, no one seems to care as long as the beer and hotdogs are flowing.<br /> its part of the reason I wont watch any professional sports nor purchase anything with a sports logo.

Probably the same fans at the Pistons, Pacers game last year. Nothing but class in the Motor city. <br /><br />This is not meant toward all you Detroit residents and fans that support their teams with class.

Sounds like Jiri is recovering. To bad some of the fans<br />reacted that way.Some things are much more important<br />than a canceled game.

As a fan I am both sickened and embarrassed by the actions of those "fans" at Mondays game, mind you it was actually a small number of those present. I've thought about this post most of today and can find no reason to even atempt to defend these morons. In my opinion this is just another example of the "ownership" mentality many people have when it comes to entertainers, thats all an athlete really is anyway. By that I mean, the idea that they paid for the ticket so the athlete owes them something in return regardless of their, the fans, actions. <br />Edit: I don't care if Ficher every plays again so long as he can lead a "normal" and productive life with no/few lasting effects from this unfortunate, and near tragic, incident.<br />As far as the Pistons/Pacers fans being the same types. You're probably right seeing as most of the people in attendance at Wings games are somewhat affluent, not all but many, and attend other sporting events as well. In this area it is incredilbly difficult to get tickets for either event, honestly it's hard to get tickets for any sport other than the Tigers.<br /><br />Don't get me wrong NONE of this excuses the assine behavior of those people. <br /><br />This is just what the city of Detroit needs at this time another black mark. I can only hope that the upcoming events here are not overshadowed by these events.

It's good to hear he is doing better. It still burns my butt just think about it. I hope this hangs over the Redwings fans for years....
