I know that the deal has been ongoing for a long time, yet I hear about the great fishing all the time too. What's the scoop? Is it good? Is it just vacation agents getting business. Can I catch anything around the place besides a cold?

Info is needed and appreciated.

UFM82

Basicaly red tides are caused by an outbreak of the dreaded cyanobacteria,it'a some kind of algae. This algal is toxic to humans and to fish so,I don't know how good the fishing would be in this kind of a situation.

The red tide is all gone. The tarpon are showing up along the beaches and in the gulf. The snook and reds are biting well in the back country. The fishing is heating up as the summer approaches.

www.tarpontidecharters.com

Guys, I really appreciate the help- my wife has been freaked out by the stories about the red tide and I have been trying to calm her down. We'll be arriving in Hudson on June 6th and plan to try to do some fishing. Tarpon, snook and reds? Sounds like a blast.

UFM82

red tide is down south in anna maria island area. Probably because of not much water movement there. But everywhere else its not evident. Don't worry about red tide unless you have sensitive lungs. It will make you cough and aggrevate your eyes a bit, but so will saltwater. It won't make you die or eat you skin
