-- From Tulsa Daily World --<br />By Staff Reports <br />4/12/2005 <br /><br />Oklahoma fishing records continue to fall this spring, and the latest one is truly a remarkable catch. <br /><br />The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation announced Monday that Jason Archie of Broken Bow caught a brown trout from the lower Illinois River which weighed 17.29 pounds on digital scales. The fish was over eight pounds heavier than the previous record. The catch was made late Sunday evening on a Rapala silver minnow crankbait. <br /><br />The Wildlife Department has confirmed the catch, but had no other details Monday. The Tulsa World will have a full report in next Sunday's outdoors page.
