Recommendations for Martinez Lake and southern Colorado River.

I've been boating/waterskiing the Colorado River since the mid 80's when I lived in LA. We would generally go to Havasu, Parker and Big River. Now that I live in San Diego, looking forward to exploring the southern end of the river. Gathered up the family a couple of weekends ago to see what Martinez Lake had to offer. Decided to see about accommodations when we got there. The only place we found to stay was the Martinez Lake Resort. This resort did not live up to expectations. In order to get my family back, I need to find somewhere better to stay. I would even prefer camping if we found a nice improved/developed campground with facilities.

Can anyone recommend any reasonable rentals in the Martinez area? Houses, condos, RVs, anything. Would even consider stuff as far down as Yuma and drive up each day if we have to.
