recommendation for replacement carburetor carb

I have a 2 bbl carb on a Ford Mercruiser 351 windsor 233hp, w/ elec choke and mechanical advance.

Does anyone who knows about carbs have a specific suggestion on a replacement, including model and where to buy it. I've been looking around the web and it seems like one can be had for under $300, but I thought maybe someone else has a good priced good quality source.

(Or, a place that does rebuilds and doesn't take a month to do it.)

Thanks,
WW

The 2 barrel holley is a pretty simple carb to work on.

BUT!!! There are many different float bowl and metering plate gaskets that flat-out are not interchangable so you HAVE to match the model # to the rebuild kit...or take it into a carb shop.

I don't intend to try and rebuild it myself.

Wonder-
If you haven't got a reputable mechanic who would rebuild and reset your existing carb get one from Edelbrook. I paid under $250 for my 2 bbl marine carb. I bought it at my local NAPA store. Just be careful... factory set carbs have poblems too. On mine the floats were WAY off and I had to reset it before it drank fuel faster than I could put it in.
