recomended timing on 115 v4???

Does anyone know what the total timing spec is for a 94 model 115 v4?? Tag on the car cover says 19btc.....that just doesnt seem right

You might give us the model number. The '98 115HP 60* V4 has a max timing spec of 20* BTDC

It's a 1994 crossflow Johnson. I don't have a 94 factory service manual. The factory timing on a similar 1990 V4 90/115 crossflow was 28 degrees +- one degree. Identical engine, different year.

The correct max timing is 19-21 degrees for a 94-95 115hp., also If you set the timing staticly reduce it 4 degrees as it will gain timing at WOT, so if you set it at 17 cranking it will be 21 at WOT.
