I've searched every posting to avoid asking a redundant question but to no avail.<br />We bought two weeks ago: a 1981 Glassmaster with a Mercury Thunderbolt 1150 6 cyl engine. SN 4394251 found on one of the motor parts but SN is scratched off cowling and all iBoat postings I've seen indicated this motor should have a SN that starts with a 3. We see a partial year near serial number: 197_. Seller (a friend who moved away day after we bought boat) told us motor was a rebuilt put on two years ago. It sat out last boating season. Replaced solenoid and put in fresh gas - but without any manual or a clue about year of motor - we have no idea what manual to buy so we can get this thing running smooth. Also, we took it out to river for test drive and we were maxing speed at maybe 15 MPH. Couldn't even get a waterskiier up. Help! Thanks

Your motor is a 1976. The manual I own is a Seloc (014-4)1408. It covers the inline 6's and V-6's from 1965 thru 1991. I believe iboats sells them.
