First, I just want to thank you for taking the time to respond and for the service that you provide. I truly appreciate it! Update, it's starts right up when I put a little gas in the carb. Got some 3/8 ID clear poly from the Home Depot and spliced on boat side of fuel pump. I also drained the separator and the contents were redish, but did not separate. However the fuel through the clear poly is not amber colored. At idle a consistent stream of 64th inch +- bubbles came from tank and hose. But, the motor is running very well. There is a tee just inside the motor well, presumably for vacuum test in the past. I'll test that with soap water first before pulling up the tank access, as I just finished sealing it off with 4200. Thanks again, and I will continue to learn from your stickies.
and probably have no business with a motor like this. I probably need to sell and get an idiot proof outboard or learn:/ The kid I bought it from in Tacoma had his VP mobile mechanic out when we tested it and I understood that the timing had been adjusted as well as valves, new ignition, and thoroughly shop tested. Can you recommend a good mechanic in the Whidbey Island area?
