Rebuilding Timer Base

I replaced the timer base on my 1972 Johnson 65hp motor some time ago. The new CDI unit was much less expensive than an OEM part but it is plastic. Maybe it is strong plastic, but I can't help wondering how durable it will turn out to be.

Because of this, I became curious and decided to take my old timer base apart to see if it might be rebuildable. It took me all of fifteen minutes to strip the unit down and clean it, leaving me with the three sensor units attached to the wiring harness. If it is possible to purchase these sensors individually, it seems to me that this part would be a slam dunk candidate for an easy rebuild. It would be very simple to do and the OEM base and ring are made of aluminum and stainless, respectively.

My question is this ... does anyone know if the individual sensors used to build the older OMC timer base assemblies are available and, if so, where? The Bompardier parts webpage only shows the item as a complete assembly. Any help that anyone can provide will be appreciated,

Re: Rebuilding Timer Base

Never seen those sold seperately. You could try going to a shop that re-winds electric motors and see if they can re-wind the coils for you.
