I have a 1997 Force 120 that I bought last year from someone that thought it was blown. After taking apart carbs and reed blocks I found that the reeds were worn down real bad. I changed the reed blocks and it has been running fine for about eight months now. When i got it in April 2010 I did a compression check and the #1, 3, and 4 cylinders were about 130 to 135. The #2 was about 110 but I decided to run it anyway and have not had problems with it yet. I would like to garantee that I could get a couple more years out of it until I decide to buy a new rig. Does anyone have an opinion about breaking it down and changing all the rings and gaskets as long as the cylinder walls are not scarred. I have rebuilt alot of outboards in my life for myself and family so I know what to do any look for, just need someone elses opinion about the subject...
