Hello, I have a fuel pump problem. It is for a Johnson 4hp, 1977model. 4W77B. I found the wonderful schematic on this site which was extremely helpful. But, when I took the FP apart, I found only one spring, and no caps. I don't know if the spring was omitted in prior repairs (motor new to me) or if this is all that is required. My question can anyone recommend an alternate pump model kit that could be used for this motor. I found a kit 18-7823 for a 1982 motor, and it has two springs..maybe I need two springs. Can't find kit for this year. I wonder if I really even need the springs. Any help would be appreciated.
