2000 Volvo Penta 5.0 GI PEFS, serial # 4012001712. Transom Assembly TSK SX-M 4111632520, Drive Unit DP-SM 1.95 4112092365
Outdrive was off for unrelated repair. Reattached outdrive everything works great, except now there is a loud screeching noise when I turn the steering wheel, that was not there when I took the drive off. The noise sounds like its coming from the bellows/ u joint area?definitely the outdrive, not steering assembly on the inside transom. I greased (10-15 shots) the u joint access from the outdrive casing. What am I missing here?
Any thoughts? Steering performance is fine, just loud screeching noise.
