Ahh another PIA, I pulled trim motor off my TNT to swap to a better TNT unit and the armature came out so what's the easiest way to get the brushes seated properly again? I can't get them pushed into their little housings enough to get the armature pushed back in completely. The motor is an Arco, which replaced the Prestolite

Re: reassembling trim motor

pull the armature out of the case. The magnets will make it hard to pull so dont be afraid to give it a yank.

Put armature on the brush assembly first then hold the end of the shaftthat sticks thru the lower case with a pair of plyers or vise with a rag on the shaft to keep from maring the slot end of the armature. slide the case down over the armature. The magnet will try to pull it out of your hand so hold on to the case tight

I used bread ties to hold the brushes into place while I put the armature in place and then removed the ties... But with enough practice and patience it can be done without the ties.

Re: reassembling trim motor

I figured out a way to do it but I run into another problem. Those coarse strand wires that juice it do handle much working around so one bust loose at the solder. Is it difficult to solder back together, I haven't done any soldering in a while so maybe I should have it done by a shop with the right tools.
