Rear cowl latch replacement?

I havent been on iboats in a few years. Kinda lost touch since I bought my2015 Pioneer with a F115LB. It never needs anything but maintenence. Well that has changed. I went to do the maintenence this year and broke the rear latch off the cowl. Apparently a common issue. I got it open, but now i need to replace it. With the handle broken off the rod came out easily, but the new one wont go back in. There isnt enough room.

So my question, is there a trick to get it back in? Or do I need to take the cowl apart? If I need to take the cowl apart, is there instructions someplace?

Edit! I got the lower cowl off. Easier than it looked. Now I have the wrong latch. ANyone got a part number for the correct one for a 2015 Yamaha F115LB?
