The advent of reality TV has caused this genre to explode into areas I never thought I'd see on TV. From Survivor (one of the first) to such silliness now as home buying, pawn shops and the like. One channel comes up with a "new" area to film in and all the other stations run to get something similar. Car restoration shows, auction guys, cooking shows. These are all IMHO mundane topics that don't rate airtime. Shows that bring us things we don't nornmally see are the exception for me. They can be interesting and even educational to some extent. But seriously- shows on reposessions? Do I need to see a show about somebody losing their car? What next- foreclosure TV? Let's all watch and take pleasure in seeing some poor soul lose their house. Maybe somebody can create a show that brings us horrible tragedies and then makes a game show out of it. Is it just me? Or am I unlike everyone else who seem to enjoy seeing people under stress. I don't like watching anything in which I feel uncomfortable for the person, even in movies. And I really don't care to watch people trying to lowball other people out of their stuff in order to try to make big profits. Not that I have any issues with profits, but when you offer someone $100 for something that you KNOW is worth thousands just seems wrong to me. Just my feeling.
