I've got a 26' Imperial 260FC and I am having trouble getting the fridge to work on DC. It is an AC/DC fridge so I know it is supposed to work but it's not. I have other things not working also but I have looked everywhere I can fit my head and cannot find a DC panel that operates all of the electronic things inside. I am thinking of just running new wire completely to the inside but I'm not sure what I will need. I know how to wire but never done a boat so I'm not sure if they are different. I would like to run the power to a fuse panel in the cabin below where the AC panel is. Does anyone have any input on this. Thanks in advance.

Well a quick note on marine wiring,... if this is too simple, not trying to offend... It is not the same as house wiring. While the theories are similar there is quite a difference.

You need quality marine grade materials. You marine grade crimp connectors and heat shrink, never wire nuts obviously.

On the note of not being able to locate the panel... a distribution point has to be somwhere... can you try tracing the cabling from the batteries toward the house loads and the end loads back toward the source? Eventually they have to meet at a distribution point.

good luck!

Some builders will only have an AC panel down below, they'll run the DC appliances from the helm...

I thought about the helm and I checked there also but nothing for operating anything in the cabin. If it is up in the sides where I can't see, I'm not sure what I will have to do. I like to know how everything works and see with my own eyes how things are laid out. I'm gonna keep looking until I find something and if I don't, I will probably want to re-wire so I can get things within reach if I need to access it.
