I recently replaced my 120 horse Force that had a 23-degree pitch prop. To a 140 horse Suzuki with a 21 degree pitch. At wide-open throttle the Force would reach 5400 rpm’s. At wide-open throttle the Suzuki only reaches 5000 rpm’s. With more horsepower and a lower pitch, on the same boat I would think it should reach the same rpm’s. The compression on the Suzuki is great! It’s 120 in all four cylinders and the motor runs good. I do know the Suzuki came from sea level and I’m currently at 2,500 hundred feet. My local Dealership that’s a 120 miles away doesn’t think I should re-jet my carbs. Any ideas?
