I was told by a local that I could re-jet my BF75 for 10 HP. Being the skeptical type I thought best ask the question here... is this possible?

David

Re: Re-jetting a BF75

You cannot get 10hp from a 7.5hp by rejetting (unless somebody had a 10hp and screwed up the jetting to make it 7.5hp). The only reasons to change jets are if:
1. Some Bubba had installed the wrong jets and you are putting the correct ones back in.
2. You are moving to a different altitude from which the jets were designed for.
3. The jets were damaged by a careless mechanic.
4. You have made extensive modifications to the intake, exhaust, cam/valves, or combustion chamber design (which is usually the difference between different horsepower engines of similar displacement) causing an increase in airflow which will require different jets.

If you need more power and your engine is running correctly, buy a bigger engine - it will be cheaper.
