Have a Carver Riviera that has the carpet headliner that is drooping from the ceiling in areas in the V-berth.

Is there a way to re-glue the carpet on the ceiling without removing it?

The stuff they sell for auto headliners does not work very well in a car. I imagine that it would be worthless in a marine environment.

Quite the contrary, I've used Permatex automotive carpet and headliner spray contact adhesive and my carpet has stayed in place for 3 seasons.

If you can get behind it and spray some in it would be fine, or pull more of it off until you can. I'd suggest wearing safety goggles because carpet fibers tend to fall while rubbing out the carpet. And have a fun running too since the fumes from that stuff are pretty strong

You don't give a year but when I worked there Carver use a spray contact adhesive on the headliner. Course the deck was upside down and it was much easier. You'll need to find a way to get the adhesive under it and push it up. Weldwood contact cement would work well.

Your best fix will be to remove it completely and reinstall. I'm pretty sure you'll find that it'll remove easily by hand.

I'd pull half of it down leaving the other half in place and re-glue with the Weldwood contact cement George mentioned, then push it back up on the top starting in the center and working out toward the edges and then roll it with a hand held carpet roller. Then pull the second half down and do it the same way.
