i have a 1996 231 proline with a merc 5.7 and a bravo two leg. will this AP work on it. thanks guy'a rich.

The mechanical links tend to wonder at lower speeds becouse of the slop in the steering cable. The hydraulic unit will hold a much truer course

The unit has been discontinued so I'd check to see how long they are going to support it before doing anything.

The units are OK provided that your steering is tight. They're a pretty easy DIY install, too.

Raymarine has discontinued the original Sport Pilots with internal electronics, but are still offering the wheel mounted drive system.
