Electric or belt drivin? That is the question. Would stay with the belt drivin pump. Easy to replace. Belts are usually available if one breaks. And you know it's working if the motor is running. Electric is normally used to help gain a little hp, by removing the static drag off the motor. In a marine motor I don't really see an advantage by doing so. And they are more expensive.
