Raw Water Pump Replacement question

I need to replace the raw water pump on an '85 Volvo Penta AQ 225 (305 chevy, 280 sterndrive). The original pump is out of production, so my question is, is the new pump that replaces it just a direct replacement? Any tricks or things to be aware of? Will the original bracket work ok?

We used to get the Jabsco replacement pump from NAPA. give them a call.

thanks...I ordered the pump. No problem there, but since it is not the original design, i just would like to know if there are any issues with the replacement, or if you just unbolt one, and bolt in the other. I did not order a new bracket hoping the OEM one works.

The bracket works also, should be the same setup. Depending on your old pump, you may need shorter mounting bolts is all.
