I've been fixing up a 1987 VP AQ260 with a 275 outdrive. I noticed the Impeller housing wobbling while running. Apon closer inspection the whole pump (pulleys and housing) is wobbling. I presume the thing is not mounted correctly or perhaps damaged. It seems to pump okay still, I replaced the impeller thinking it might help but didn't.

Can anyone share any insight on this before I tear into it. Anyone ever fix a problem like this. Are there parts I need to order for the reinstall or should I pull it off and see what happens.

Thanks Much!

Sometimes when they are replaced they don't get mounted right and wobble. This won't hurt anything but try to remount and see if you can get to stop.Jerry

If you take the pump off, you will see inside the pully 2 raised protrutions that should be inside some of those pump holes. Just turn the pump till the right ones line up, It will fit on wrong several ways, but only one way that allows the pump to not wobble.
