Hey everyone

I recently bought a 1988 Cruisers Inc. Holiday 2670 with a blown mercruiser 5.7L alpha one. In the engine compartment there is a raw water inlet valve located just to the right of the engine. The previous owner removed just about every hose so I can't tell what this connects to.
I know that on some engines, the cooling water comes in through the outdrive and an inlet valve, but in the manual it says that all the cooling water comes in through the outdrive.
Could this be for the hot water heater with a heat exchange unit?
I don;t think so but who knows.
I am dropping in a rebuilt merc and want to make sure I hook everything up correctly.

Any help would be awesome

Thanks

If you post a couple of pictures of the valve and the engine, I'm sure many of us could easily identify the valve and where it goes.

Ok

I'll take a few pics and I'll post them as soon as I get a chance.

Thanks
