Re: Rapala Shad Rap X-Series Arizona

I don't know anything about AZ fishing, but here in NY, I like X-raps when water temps are high 50's/low 60's. Mostly the 4" regular size (XR-10, XRD-10, not shad), in regular and deep. If you have luck with x-raps, but fish clear, colder water, find a Lucky Craft Pointer 100 that closly matches your forage base. The pointers are one of the few LC's that I think are worth the price. When the water temp is in the 40's, you have to have some long pauses between twitches, and the more it looks like the real thing, the better. The LC Pointer 100's will cast a mile, too.

Here is some "suspending" tests I did this winter: http://joefish.homestead.com/SuspendingJerkbaitTests.html

Well,I went out with my buddy on his new Nitro, well new to him,1998.Very nice boat, but he could'nt control the trolling motor and both of the X-Raps that I bought got snagged,he would'nt go near the rocks to get them out with his nice boat.Wish I would have taken my Bass Tracker,I would still have my $6.99 pair of shad raps, lol. No fish on any yet.
