Hello all.
First time posting here, so flame on. I just have some specific questions about the Ranger 23 (if you're familiar), and, some questions all you folks who have done glass and epoxy work.
I am replacing the bulkheads in my R23. They are a 1/2 " teak veneer, and are bolted to a glass lower bulkhead/"cabinet". I have gotten as far as drilling out the plugs, removing the bolts, and screws, but I am stuck with the port support beam that is overlapping the 1/2 " board from coming out. It also seems glued to a portion of the "cabinet" glassed portion.
So, is anyone familiar with this proceedure, and if you've done it or helped, how do you remove the wooden bulkhead without removing the support beam or is that manditory removal. I cannot even tell how the heck it's in there... there does not appear to be any screws, bolts, etc. nor teak plugs to hide them.
Does anyone happen to have the R23 bulkhead pattern? My port bulkhead is so far gone I won't be able to get to trace it to rebuild it. I can do the starboard as well and trace that and reverse it, but I would rather not unless it's the on;y way tot get a pattern.
Also, what product do you recommend for sealing a new bulkhead piece of wood? It should not be exposed to water, but potentially could...
Anyhow, thanks much!
