We finally splashed yesterday for the first time this year (WooHoo!). Our first lauch of the year is always a short day just to shake things out, make sure everything is A-O-K before we start staying on the water overnight. We're getting to the dock area around 11:30am to leave, and it is packed....solid. We normally leave about the same time on Sundays when we stay overnight, and there is usually very little dock traffic at this time. 4-5 wide at the launch, and 3 wide, 6-8 deep waiting with vehicles at the top of the ramp. Luckily the dock itself was open, so we pulled in, and my 17yr old son waited with the boat while I get the truck.
I get to the front of the line and one of the ramp guys comes over and says its so busy because a boat sank at the other marina and its completely shut down while they recover it.
Another ramp guy comes over and asks: "You here to pull one out?"
"Nope, just drove 85mi for a trailer-only dry run, make sure the trailer is good for the year .... here's yer sign."

My son had a great resonse when I told him - he would have said "Nope, meeting Wonder Woman here with her invisible boat" LOL.

Re: Ramp personnel

About ten yrs back I hauled a new boat trailer from Indiana to northern Wisconsin for a freind.
Everywhere We stopped someone would say "There's no boat on Your trailer!"
My buddy was driving and got pulled over by State Police,
First thing He says "Ya know there's no boat on Your trailer"
What goes on in Wisconsin? Do people lose their boats and not know it?
