I was messing with my boat this afternoon and took a close look at the new Honda/Racor fuel/water seperation filter. I noticed that they had connected the incoming fuel line into a hole "MARKED OUT" indicated by an arrow and the same with the fuel line going to the motor. The bracket is mounted in the engine well and I think they did the mounting this way because the hole is located straight out from the fitting coming out of the hull. They used some kind of rigid fitting to make the connections thru the fiberglass.
My questions is basically, am I still getting filteration or does this bypass the filter element??? There 2 connections on that side, one in and one out, the out connection is being used for my Honda kicker motor. Every thing works well, but this kinda of bothers me because that was the purpose of having a filter. To change it I would need to buy a piece of hose a couple inches longer to make the angle and connection.
I suppose I could try to take a picture but we all know what the bracket looks like.
I think I will try to stop at West Marine tomorrow and take a good look at the assembly and ask some questions.
