Hey guys its me again. I got the ignition working great, thanks, but now I'm down to another problem.
I'm trying to convert that same 1964 sportfour 60 horse 'rude to rack and pinion steering, but of course it doesnt have a tilt tube. I tried using heavy I bolts through which to thread an old tilt tube, but I have found out why they like to use that tube as the fulcrum; when you tilt the motor it screws up the I bolt deal bad.
Is it possible to run a larger tilt tube through where right now there is just a large fulcrum bolt? Do I have to spring for the dang transom or splashwell mount? Or is there another way that is cheaper (which is good) to do this?
