What is this feature exactly? I can infer that it helps start the boat quicker, but is there more? Also, when did Evinrude start putting it on their motors?

I ask because I've been told by several my 86 E150XP doesn't have it, which I believe as there is no mention in the book about it, but someone else said there 1989 E150XP does have it. It's got me curious.

Thanks

Re: Quickstart

It's a system that electronically advances the timing without you moving the throttle. When the motor warms up, it idles down -- just like an automobile. It's also part of SLOW (speed limiting overheat warning) and the rev limiter. Any motor that has it will have an orange and a orange / black wire from the pack to the stator. The 86 150S doesn't have it.

Re: Quickstart

Clears that up, thanks. I kept seeing it talked about and needed to know!
