Ok I just got my quicksilver bellows transom repair kit. I notice that the gimbal bearing that came with it is a sealed unit, non grease able. I thought the quicksilver kit came with a greaseabke bearing?
I bought it from Amazon

Should I remove my greaseable bearing and put this sealed unit in?

If (always a IF) you need a new bearing
Sold my 1995 boat this year and still had original bearing in it

Put your fingers in the current bearing and if its still smooth, put some more grease in it and continue using. If its ruff, replace

Agreed only replace if it’s bad /rough. My 2004 still has original graspable bearing.

To op nothing wrong with the sealed bearing . If either one gets wet it’s done for …

K, tge original one is still smooth so I guess I’ll just grease it up & leave it in there..at least I have a spare.

If you do install the sealed bearing, remember to install the zerk plug, or someone will pump grease in there.

Also what do I use to install the seal around the bellows? The silver ring.

I made one out of 2 pieces of plywood. Used 2 hole saws to make.

I used power tune to make it slippery , I had a storm water piping grate made for a 3” pipe that fit around the ring pushed it in with the handle of a BFH
